System Design.

Genesis Creations Ltd.

A return to Genesis Creations to design a new solution to replace the ageing Windows 3.11 network.

Built and installed 12 pentium class 333Mhz machines to run a 'Windows 98' OS on a 'Novell'   network.  Configured machines for  use on 10base2 with IPX/SPX protocol.   Included provision for future external email by addition of TCP/IP.

Installed and configured all client software, which included 'MS Office' (incorporating 'MS Outlook' internal Email system) 'Auto CAD' and a script to faciliate Sage Sovreign login. 

Trained users with use of new system.

September 1998 to February 1999


Dresdner Kleinwort Benson.


Initially employed by this world class investment bank to work on Year 2000 related projects.  At the end of that project contract was extended and moved to work on the EMU (European Monetary Union) integration project. 

Whilst working in this area, identified several unprepared areas on the PC desktop.  As a result took ownership of 3500 desktops Bank Wide, ensuring that any Market Data feeds to Microsoft Excel would be ready for the introduction of the new currency. 

This was achieved by the development and coding of VB applications.  These searched for the existence of redundant RIC's (Reuters Index Codes) and supplied details of changes required.

Rolled out package and trained department heads on implementation.

Contract was renewed twice.

March 1998 to September 1998

Second Line Support.

This large company (turning over 100M pa.) is divided into several sections. 

During time with "4Help" provided second line technical support to: John Lewis, British Telecom, Dixons, Byte, PC-World, Argos. 

For 2 months was sub-contracted to help-desks around London.  He acted as on-site cover for two companies.

Both these companies used large Hybrid Microsoft based networks.  Kept busy with all the demands of a large corporate user base.

His contract was renewed a total of three times.

1995 to 1996

Roll out and 1st line support.

Genesis Ltd.


Built, configured, and installed (network ready) 9 workstations and one server for Genesis office.

Role for 12 months was to smooth over the introduction of the new PC system.

Involved training and supporting the users of this new system.

During this time also increased sales in his area by 196% on the previous financial year.

Managed own accounts and business administration with "486 SX-25".
